6 Steps to Power BI Implementation

  1. Discovery: First, we’ll work with you to understand business needs, review existing data sources, and plan the overall project. This step includes interviewing stakeholders and technical users to gather pertinent information.
  2. Design & Planning: In this phase, we’ll design the data model, document data schema relationships and cardinality, and finalize your project plan and schedule.
  3. Build, Create, & Import: At this point, we’ll begin building necessary data structures, creating the dimensional data model, and implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to import data.
  4. KPIs, Reports, and Dashboards: During this phase, we develop key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and reports based on the data model and business requirements.
  5. Publish and Embed: We publish dashboards and reports and grant access to permitted users. We can also embed these in other applications (e.g., Milo) as needed.
  6. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: The final phase involves creating documentation that describes the final configuration of the Power BI environment and conducting knowledge transfer sessions with your technical staff.
