Make a Smooth Transition to M365 From Any Source

Migrating content from an on-premises or cloud source to Microsoft 365 (M365) / Office 365 (O365) is not, in itself, a technical challenge. What is difficult is performing the migration with minimal business disruption; a lift and shift migration that simply dumps all content into Microsoft 365 results in a disorganized, cluttered environment, end-user confusion, poorly enforced security and governance policies, increased ongoing management and support, and additional storage costs.

At AdaptivEdge, we leverage advanced tools, diligent, iterative processes, and our decades of experience with migrating content to the Microsoft cloud to ensure minimal disruption to end users and business operations. To help with the transition and adoption process, we provide extensive end-user training and work with your team to design an optimal information architecture that promotes collaboration and ensures governance and compliance.

Is My Migration Destination Microsoft 365 or Office 365?

Microsoft has recently combined Office 365 and other advanced tools into a new suite called Microsoft 365. You might still hear these tools referenced as Office 365 (or O365) as organizations adapt to the rebranding. Just know that Microsoft 365 equals Office 365, and the migration experts at AdaptivEdge can help you make the move to this better-than-ever workspace.

SharePoint On-Prem to Microsoft 365 Migrations

SharePoint on-premises environments can be highly complex and often include a myriad of third-party solutions, custom development, and a history of multiple upgrades. This can make it challenging to understand what features and functionality you use and need to maintain when you migrate. Our expert SharePoint architects will guide the process, including analyzing what needs to be migrated and mapping business and technical requirements with solutions available within the SharePoint Online platform.

Box and Dropbox to Microsoft 365 Migrations

Box and Dropbox subscriptions are expensive and can adequately be replaced by a combination of Microsoft OneDrive for Business, SharePoint, and Teams, which most organizations own as part of their existing Office 365 licensing. This trio of Microsoft products provides much more capability than either Box or Dropbox, including powerful search capabilities and improved security and compliance.

Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 Migrations

As organizations grow and require more sophisticated security and compliance capabilities, many migrate from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365. While the Google Workspace platform is extensive and robust, it can’t provide the native identity, device, and data protection capabilities that M365 does. In a Google environment, teams need expensive add-ons and third-party products to fill the gap, making this a more expensive choice overall and introducing integration and management complexity. AdaptivEdge can help you assess the potential value and cost savings of migrating to Microsoft 365 and help ensure a smooth and successful migration.

M&A and Divestiture IT Integration

Mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures are a natural function of business and capitalism. These activities often require complex tenant-to-tenant migrations that move information and data from one organization to another and help two organizations integrate and align to operate as one. M&A transactions often require migrating on-premises Active Directory user accounts, systems, and applications from one identity structure to another. AdaptivEdge is certified with Quest Active Directory migration tools for on-premises Active Directory migrations or consolidations, and we can help you navigate the organizational and integration challenges of consolidating platforms, identities, and data.

Data Center to Azure Migrations

Cloud adoption is the future, and every organization should be evaluating how the cloud can save money, improve efficiency, and provide a competitive advantage. Migrating systems and applications from on-premises data centers to Microsoft Azure can help organizations innovate quickly and scale. Additionally, Azure’s technical capabilities, particularly AI, big data, and analytics, are not replicable in on-premises environments. We can help your organization build an Azure cloud adoption strategy that leverages hybrid capabilities to make the transition graceful and economical.

Successful Migration to M365 with AdaptivEdge

As a CSP Tier 1 partner, AdaptivEdge can provide expert guidance to ensure you find the most cost-effective Microsoft and Office 365 licensing strategy and migration plan. Here’s how our migration process works:

  • Phase 1: Discovery & Inventory to fully understand the environment, the data to be migrated, and the M365 environment it will be migrated to. We often leverage Power BI for data visualization purposes during this phase.
  • Phase 2: Design & Planning to document what data will be migrated and where it will be migrated to. In many cases, Microsoft 365 does not function identically with the source platform, so some information architecture and design changes are required to follow best practices.
  • Phase 3: Configuration and Testing to build out the target environment in M365 and validate the migration process using a sampling of the data and content.
  • Phase 4: Training and End User Adoption to prepare end users and IT staff, enabling them to manage their work in M365 from day one effectively.
  • Phase 5: Migration and Cutover, which includes limiting or reducing access to the source environment so that users can no longer make changes. In some cases, a cutover will be done for the entire organization. In other cases, the migration and cutover process will be a phased approach based on department, location, etc.
  • Phase 6: Support provides the customer with error resolution, optimization, change requests, and ongoing training.
  • Phase 7: Documentation and knowledge transfer ensure that all of the design decisions and final configuration are handed off to the customer’s operations team.
